There is a lecture capture and streaming system installed into the SNSC Tuanku Bainum Auditorium. This is currently the only room at Worcester with this facility.

User should read and note the following:

Video

By Default the forward facing camera and any projected content will be captured, the camera cannot normally see the audience.

The camera is located at the back of the room and is focused on the stage.

For best results it is recommended that presentation slides (or equivalent) are run from the college supplied laptop rather than other devices supplied by the User. This means that slides should should be in a format that will run on a windows laptop.

In order to operate correctly the camera needs a good level of light available on the stage area - turning the lights down or off will result in sub-optimal video.

Audio

Only amplified audio will be recorded - in practice this means that the speaker must either stand behind the lectern, or if mobile wear a lapel microphone. This also applies to anyone introducing a speaker.

If the lecture or event has audience participation or questions - arrangements should be made to get a microphone to audience members - the college has two handheld microphones for this purpose. It is recommended that users nominate people as "microphone runners" to assist with this process. If this is not possible or desirable the speaker should repeat the question before answering it.

If using an external Audio company e.g. for a panel discussion or similar, arrangements need to be made to get an audio feed into the lecture capture system - this should be arranged in advance it will not usually be possible to arrange it on the day.

Logistics

Recording or webcasting should be requested by e-mail from Worcester College IT Helpdesk (ithelpdesk@worc.ox.ac.uk) at least one week prior to the event with exact timings of the event and details of whether a recording or live stream is required.

If recording a non-college event we may not be able to hold the recording for long after the event and will instead make them available to the organisers.

Live webcasts (if requested) will be available at https://www.meetworcester.com/live/.
