Smethurst Studio

General

The Semthurst Studio is located within the SNSC at Worcester College.

It has the following audio/visual equipment:

  • 4 x Ceiling Mounted Speakers
  • Amplifier
  • Bluetooth Music / Audio Receiver.
  • 3.5mm Jack Music / Audio Input.

Note there is no screen or video / image display equipment in this room, users who require this facility should consider booking a different room.

Blinds

There are floor to ceiling electric blinds which can be raised or lowered to cover the large windows.

The remote is currently located in the first cupboard on the left, it is pictured below. The remote should be stored attached to the wall with Velcro when not in use.

Lowering

  • Point towards the Windows and press the down button.
  • Wait until Blinds have completely lowered.

 

Raising

  • Point towards the windows and press the up button.
  • Wait until blinds have completely raised.

Stopping

To stop the blinds at a mid-way point:

  • Point towards the windows and press the up or down button.
  • When blind reaches desired height press the middle button.

Playing Music / Audio Wirelessly (via Bluetooth)

To play music wireless from a phone or tablet via bluetooth:

  • Ensure bluetooth is turned on.
  • Pair / Connect your device with Bose SoundTouch by clicking on the device in the list 

  • (On iphone select Settings -> Bluetooth).
  • Ensure the amplifier in the cupboard is:
    • Turned on (Red arrow)
    • Set to input source B (blue arrow)
    • Turned up (green arrow).

  • Start music playing on your phone / tablet as normal.
  • Volume can be controlled using the knob on the right hand side of the amplifier.

Playing Music / Audio using a cable

To play music using a cable your device should have a stereo 3.5mm jack (headphone) socket.

  • Connect it to the cable in the alcove to the left of the internal entrance door.

  • Ensure the amplifier (inside left hand cupboard) is set as follows:
    • Powered on (red arrow)
    • Source A (blue arrow)
    • Volume turned up (green arrow)

  • Play music or audio from your device as normal.
  • Volume can be controlled by adjusting the black volume knob in the alcove.
