Browsers cache data to make page loading quicker when accessing the same page at a later date.
Most of the time this just stores unnecessary files and takes up storage space, it can also lead to issues when website changes are made.
Here is a few guides for the common browsers to clear this data: Chrome:
- Open 'Chrome', select the 3 small dots in the top right of the application and open 'Settings' - Scroll to the bottom of the settings screen and select 'Advanced' - You should then see 'Clear browsing data'
- You can then select the time range and what you would like to clear, I would recommend all of the data in the 'Basic' tab. - You can clear more data such as stored passwords by using the 'Advanced' tab although I would not recommend this. - Select 'Clear data'
Firefox
- Open Firefox and select the 3 small lines in the top right of the application and select 'Options'
- Select 'Privacy & Security' on the left and 'Clear Data' under 'Cookies and Site Data'
- Then select 'Clear' then 'Clear Now'
Edge
-Open Edge and select the 3 dots in the top right of the application and select 'Settings'
- Then select 'Choose what to clear'
- Choose what you would like to clear, or leave it as the default options and select 'Clear'
Safari
- Open the safari application and select 'Safari' then 'Preferences'
- Then select the 'Privacy' tab and then 'Manage Website Data...'
- Finally select 'Remove all' or choose the pages which you would like to delete the stored data
